MYD 2017 Youth Retreat at Whitemoor Lakes Centre

The Methodist Young Disciples (MYD) are hosting their 2017 Youth Retreat at Whitemoore Lakes Centre, Staffordshire from Friday 28th- 30th July. About 102 youths including their advisers across the Fellowship's 30 branches have booked to attend the annual event. The MYD says they have also again this year registered members of the Sunday School aged 9- 12 years, to attend the popular event.


Lovendar Madziya, MYD secretary said; "We are pleased as MYD with the overwhelming response and support from youth, parents, advisers, Chaplain and Fellowship at large. The response from youth surpassed our initial target of 60 people, and we are excited."


Lovendar says "The retreat is an opportunity for us youth within the Fellowship to come together to develop and explore a growing relationship with Christ, and also to know each other better through life sharing experiences."


The theme of the reatreat is "Don't despise the young, instead be examplary" taken from [1 Timothy 4:12" Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity"].


Chaplain Revd Cleopas Sibanda and Revd Mary Sachikonye are among a line up of powerful speakers at the weekend retreat. Besides engaging in structured sessions and group discussions, Youth will also showcase their God given talents and participate willingly in other planned physical/sport activities.


Youth Board Secretary Paida Moyo said: "It is so exciting seeing many youths taking an active interest in Fellowship activities such as the retreat. We pray that many will find the retreat helpful in some aspects of their life, and more importantly our different spiritual journeys as youths."


To create a friendly enviroment and for participants to reflect a christian attitude, MYD produced a Code of Conduct which can be accessed here , consent forms for under 18 and 18+.

School of Evangelism Retreat 2017 in Staffordshire

The Fellowship's Evangelism group is holding its annual School of Evangelism Retreat from Friday 2nd to 4th June at Yarnfield Park Training and Conference centre in Stone, Stafforshire. Preachers, worship leaders supported by their Ministers are encouraged to attend this three day event. The theme is "We are Christ's Ambassadors  [Tirivamiriri vaKristru / Singabameli bakaKristu] 2 Corinthians 5:20.


The retreat provide a great opportunity for members of the Evangelism group to learn, share and embed. A wide range of topics will be covered and four ministers including Chaplain Revd Sibanda, Revd Chanakira, Revd Chidziya, Revd Sachikonye and different people from across the Fellowship will deliver some of the sessions. Aylesbury branch launched in style

The Fellowship launched in style its 30th branch at Aylesbury on Sunday 7th May. The successful launch event was attended by representatives from 15 branches within the Fellowship. Aylesbury MCZF-UK become the newest branch within the Fellowship, following another successful launch of Aylesbury launch 1Portsmouth branch last month.


Chaplain Revd Cleopas Sibanda jointly officiated the opening of the branch with Revd Helen Kirk, Minister and Superintendent of the Vale of Aylesbury Methodist Church. Chaplain Revd Sibanda said, "It was so pleasing seeing many people from different branches coming to support our new 'baby' in Christ, Aylesbury branch.  We hope and pray for Aylesbury branch to grow in numbers and more importantly spiritually for the glory of God to be seen within the church and beyond."Revds Sibanda  Helen kirk


Revd Sibanda encouraged members of Aylesbury branch to keep the momentum rather than take a step back because the official launch is over. Aylsebury branch was born out of the Luton branch. The Fellowship has 30 branches  in UK and also supports the Ireland group.

Fellowship Music Day in Coventry, Saturday 13th May

The Fellowship is hosting its first music day this saturday 13th May in Coventry from 09:30am-13:00. All Fellowship branches are encouraged to enter their choir to participate in this music competition described by organisers as a 'branch team building through music'. It is a day not to be missed as it promises to be joyous, and more importantly fellowshipping together through music. Singing praise to our Lord. In an invitation sent to all Fellowship branches, the National Music Ministry Committee says "the Methodist church is known for its great melody , sounds of worship , songs of praise and hence ,it is our pleasure to invite all members of the MCZF UK family and all those who like music to come and join us at this great day of praising God through music."

MCU / BCU held a successful revival in Reading

The Men's Christian Union and its Boys' Christian Union held an uplifting, informative and educative all night revival in Reading on Saturday 29th April, 2017. The revival was organised as part of the two organisation's efforts to develop spiritual growth of their members through Bible teachings and sharing life experiences.


The all night attended by both MCU and BCU members from across most of the Fellowship's branches was described by many present as 'successful and rewarding.' BCU treasurer Effort Takaedza said "We really had a great time. I am happy that I attended. I was so blessed." MCU chairperson, Mr Tichaona Madziya also agreed, "We that God for a wonderful blessed all night. And I would like to thank all men and boys who attended."
